My baby isn’t a newborn anymore, can we still use this service?
Postpartum is forever, right?!
While the majority of our work is supporting new parents and homes through pregnancy and postpartum, we know and understand that postpartum and the need for support goes way beyond the perceived 6 weeks.
We are honoured to support homes with new borns through to older, school aged children and everything in between.
A lot of our clients request support around 6-12 months postpartum - this is often after the newborn support has dwindled off, and we're left in the exhaustion and mental load alongside navigating new aspects of infancy and parenthood like baby starting to move and solids begin.
Returning to work and need some extra support on the physical load around the house, prepping meals and baking for lunchboxes?
Going through some big things in life and need extra support?
Have higher needs in the home and looking for a proactive, in depth home-care that goes beyond a standard cleaner?
Processing grief, experiencing mental distress, or navigating any other life challenges?
Having an operation or recovering from an injury?
We believe the weight of parenthood can be heavy at any, and every, age and stage of raising babies and children - we see a serious need for support for ALL parents - one that goes above and beyond a cleaning service - one that is created and run by parents, for parents.
Dew Drops is a support service that tailors every single session to the individual home and their needs - providing well rounded support that cares for the entire home. Surrounded by care, knowledge and understanding and fueled by a passion for change, initiative and intuition - we are here to change the game in supporting parents.

Do you bring your own cleaning supplies?
Our support sessions vary so much, that cleaning isn’t always on the cards. While we do provide housekeeping support, its a small slither of the support we offer.
So, to save you money on your session costs, we use the products you know and trust already in your homes. This way, we know you are comfortable with the products being used around you and your family without worry of reactions or any potential damage.
We are also pretty resourceful and believe in the power of household homemade cleaners - baking soda, white vinegar or lemon juice can work magic if there's no other cleaning products on hand!
-
Do you travel around all of Canterbury?
Absolutely! We travel around the majority, if not all, of Canterbury, depending on final travel distance and location - this is due to our team having little ones of our own that we work our schedules around.
Feel free to reach out and enquire with your specific location to check availability and travel costs.
-
I'd love food prep for our sessions - what do you like to cook and bake?
A lot of the time, we can look into someones cupboards and create something magical, even from the most basic of pantry supplies. Its a skill we love to utilise, being creative with what's seasonal or on hand and surprising you with something tasty.
We can support you with meal ideas, planning and even pop to the supermarket for you to create specific favourite dishes that you and your family will love - once booked in, we send a further detailed PDF with information on cupboard basics etc that can be helpful for our visits.

Mental Health Peer Support - what does this mean?
We are qualified in Maternal Mental Health Peer Support, which allows us to safely hold space for you and your experiences, while supporting you in finding and utilising deeper supports from a wide range of professionals and services if this is something you need.
While we aren’t trained counsellors or therapists, sometimes, a simple and safe conversation with someone who ‘just gets it’, without shame or judgement, can be a huge turning point in amongst the challenges of parenthood - especially while combined with folding your laundry!
We have extensive knowledge of the supports available, locally and nationally, that we can share with you and help refer on your behalf if you wish.

Do we have to be home while you visit?
It's not essential! Due to the intuitive nature of this support service, we can work away on your to-do lists whether you're near or far.
Often, we will meet our clients at home for their first session, and will be left to it while they pop away for a sleep or out to do their own things. Some clients will leave us keys or access codes and return home to the magic of a tidy space and a ticked off to-do list. There’s something extra special about coming home to the ‘after’, and there's something extra lovely about chatting away as we plot around your home, too, if you wish - There is never any obligation to chat with us if you want to soak up that quiet time for yourself - feel free to put your headphones on, request no chats, or to head to the privacy of your own room - its your home and its important you feel safe and comfortable.

I am really uncomfortable with the idea of someone helping me…..
Fair enough, too! Its incredibly hard to allow someone into our home and space, particularly at such a sacred time in life!
We absolutely understand that this is well beyond the comfort level of a lot of people - we often find, that this can feel more comfortable than allowing a friend to help.
As we are a neutral person from an outsourced service, it can be a little easier to let those feelings slip to the side and receive the support - there’s no fear of your personal going ons getting into your friend circles or any shame around those things we’d rather people didn't see.
If you are considering gifting this support to a friend, it can be a lovely gesture to check in with them or their partner to see if this is something they are comfortable with prior to purchasing a gift voucher, and we are happy to transfer your support on to someone else if you have been gifted this support but don’t wish to redeem yourself.

Do you mind dogs?
Dogs are another favourite aspect of this work!
Getting to meet your fur babies is just as exciting as meeting you and your human babies. We have a big 45kg rescue boof head of our own here at Dew Drops HQ, so we are super comfortable around all kinds of pets and dogs, and will always take care to greet and allow them space in their own homes - or all the pats if they're that way inclined!
As someone who has had vast experience with rescue and anxious dogs, I am extremely aware and understanding of how treating these babies of yours with the respect and space they deserve. Please always chat with us further if there's anything special we need to know before your session.
