Jessie Johnson
CEO/FOUNDER / IN-HOME SUPPORTER / SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT / TEAM LEADER
MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH PEER SUPPORTER / BREASTFEEDING PEER COUNSELLOR / MENTAL HEALTH & SUICIDE PREVENTION ADVOCATE
Kia Ora!
I’m Jessie, the founder of Dew Drops Postpartum Ltd. and proud one-and-done mum to Ilay (4), who is named after his Great Great Grandad, pronounced like Riley without the R!This soul-led little business was born after my own experiences of postpartum challenges and importantly, sharing the tools and supports I found along the way, to help support others in their own experiences.
I felt a real need for deeper, proactive and holistic support for parents - predominantly through pregnancy, postpartum and the fourth trimester - supporting parents and the entire household by holding and lightening the physical and mental load that often comes along with parenthood.
I also saw a deeper need for, and hold a huge passion for supporting homes in any stage of parenting and the many challenges it can bring - whether through grief, loss, miscarriage, physical challenges and health diagnoses or any other life things that you find you need someone to lighten your load.
Maternal and paternal wellbeing is my passion - I am a trained Maternal Mental Health Peer Supporter, Breast Feeding Peer Counsellor and a Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Advocate - using my lived experiences and a wide range of supports, knowledge and safe spaces for referrals to support you in your own experiences - without judgment, without shame and with a real human, holistic and practical approach - all while lightening your physical load in the home.
I love to cook, create and love a satisfying cleaning session as well as those slower days organizing your little ones clothes or helping you to prepare for baby's arrival. I love working with parents, creating space for them to slow down, take time for themselves, for their families and to assist in creating a sacred and supported space for the entire household as you welcome your new babies or navigate through life's ebbs and flows.

IN-HOME SUPPORTER
REGISTERED ECE TEACHER / CERTIFIED SLEEP CONSULTANT / MATERNAL MENTAL HEALTH PEER SUPPORTER
Hi everyone!
I'm Abbie, mum to Lucy (5) & George (6).
I’m a big foodie and love to get creative in the kitchen! It is such a pleasure to be a part of the Dew Drops team, offering support to families in the 4th trimester (and beyond!), and ease that physical load for your family so that you can take more time for yourselves and your special little people.
Whether you are just jumping onboard the parenting train for the first time, or you are three children in already, expanding your family no matter the size comes with so many new challenges each and every time. That’s why it is such a joy to be able to take the pressure off by getting some of those daily household duties achieved for you and your family, making any transition you are facing that little bit easier!
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you all in your homes, and in the areas you most need that physical load lifted.

IN-HOME SUPPORT / ADMIN + BACKGROUND SUPPORT
UK-TRAINED & REGISTERED BIRTH & POSTNATAL DOULA / EX-PRIMARY TEACHER / LIFE COACH / PARENTAL WELLBEING ADVOCATE
Hi Everyone,
I’m Kirsten.
After over 20 years in the UK, working as a teacher, coach and birth and postnatal doula, I relocated back to New Zealand, in the middle of covid!
After taking time to settle the family and reacquainting myself with some of what this wonderful country has to offer, I retrained and qualified as a proofreader and editor. After stumbling across the Dew Drops website (no edits required!), I have been called back into the wonderful world of postpartum support – the smell of those newborns’ heads is hard to resist!
I have long been an advocate of mother and baby wellbeing, believing wholeheartedly in getting those early days right for improved long-term family health and happiness. In the UK I ran a retreat for mothers enabling them time for themselves, alongside caring for their baby; I also ran postnatal workshops on various topics and a weekly mothers wellbeing drop-in session (which is still running, over 5 years later). I worked alongside the midwives, obstetricians and policymakers within the local hospital and maternity units, advocating for women’s well-being during the perinatal period to improve birth and postnatal outcomes.
Part of that work also included a place on the local Perinatal Mental Health committee, ensuring lived-experience informed countywide 'best practice and policy' giving mothers' voices a place at the decision-making table.
I am a holistic nourisher- we all need different things at different times in the parenting journey. Working as a doula (meaning: ‘mothering the mother’) allows me the opportunity to provide practical and immediate relief and reassurance to new parents in whatever way they need. It is a privilege to come into a home and potentially turn a day around; often all it takes is a cup of tea and a chat. Folded washing, a clean bathroom and homemade snacks can help too, of course!
Alongside my Dew Drops hours, I am still proofreading and admin-ing, sitting at the computer closely supervised by my two cats (the Gremlins, siblings Oscar and Lando). Outside working hours, I provide taxi services for my teenage daughter, occasionally getting the chance to walk the lovely local hills and beaches, or to garden.
I am excited to be a part of the fabulous Dew Drops team and look forward to meeting you soon!

EXPERIENCED NANNY 20+ YEARS / MAMA / GRANDMA
Hi there!
As a mother of six children, aged between 40 and 29, I've developed a passion for childcare that extends far beyond my own family. With over 40 years of experience in caring for children, I like to think of myself as a "Super Nanny."
Throughout my journey, I've had the pleasure of meeting people from all walks of life. I understand the pressures of raising children and have the patience to support children and parents with diverse personalities.
I'm proud to say that I have many excellent references and have formed lasting friendships with the families I've worked with. When you leave your children in my care, you can expect them to receive careful and passionate attention. You'll also come home to cooked meals, a clean and tidy house, and happy children.
Do you have concerns about your child's eating habits, sleep patterns, or settling issues? With my extensive experience, I'm more than happy to offer guidance and advice.
In my spare time, you'll find me spending time with my beautiful grandchildren, baking, cleaning, and enjoying quality time with my family.
Feel free to get in touch with me to discuss how I can support your family's childcare needs.
I am available to support you and your home for afternoons, evenings and over nights with weekends available on request.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER / QUALIFIED LIFE COACH / HEALTH & WELLBEING CERTIFIED / MĀMĀ
“Kia Ora
I believe that as humans, we are meant to be part of interdependent and reciprocal communities. We deserve support always, but especially when bringing a new life into the world. The foundation of healthy whānau is getting to be present with each other and getting to show up for our children. In order to do that, we need to rely on others and carve out routines for ourselves that allow us to recharge.
Throughout my work as a teacher, life coach, community support worker and disability advocate, I've always practised a needs-based approach. I'm excited to bring that approach into post-partum support and be a part of your journey in whatever way is helpful to you - whether that's co-creating individual practices of self-care, supporting you in acute overwhelm, or simply doing the dishes. I'm here to listen, lighten your load, and help find what works best for you.
As a white, queer and neurodivergent person, I work through a person-centered and te Tiriti o Waitangi informed lens. Because of my lived experience, I am able to support people within found family, neurodivergent burn-out and those who require trauma-informed care."
